This manual core aerator lawn tool is a huge time saver. It’s very durable and has thick forks. The handle is easy to grip while pulling from the dirt or grass. Cleaning is as simple as any other garden tool. Very pleased with improving my lawn and the quality of aeration this tool provided!

it sturdy , easy to put together, a little pricey but not too bad

I am aerating my lawn in central Florida, and as such, can get quite compact over time. This aerator allowed for simple and easy aeration. Well made and big plus having the plugs to be able to exit out mid way on the fork. My only grip, is that it did not take long for the handle to start spinning and turning as I was working it. If they can improve the grips, I would be very happy and give it a 5. But to not get through my modestly small area, just took it down a notch. Pleased on overall performance.

Excellent construction, engineered by a hands on kinda person, I presume, I really don't know. Stainless steel means no rust, ever. Bolts holding tubes onto frame, stainless and replaceable tubes a plus. However couple items need to be completed before you make first contact with soil. First, know your limit of MANUAL labor. So whatever you think you can do. Turn your sprinkler on that area, now put tool in vise, or clamp down to heavy table. Get medium to fine 10" Rat tail file or use dremel with sharping bit and put edge on each tube. This will greatly ease the weight needed to penetrate ground without causing too much frustration or cardiac arrest. Move sprinkler to area on honey do list for tomorrow. Depending how your feeling or how many blisters have popped open. My stomping action has become perpetual now. With little foot,leg effort, little wobble left n right to lil front to back. That's what I call AERATOR SHUFFLE and you can put your own tunes to it, makes time fly bye. I've have 10k sq ft yard. about every 2' straight ahead is orderly way. Figure I have another months worth stomping if cooperation does not come. I have a pull behind core aerator, it needs 300-400lbs. and a 2 in. rain, about 2-3 hrs that puts holes randomly 12in. apart. I can't do that coverage with my well output volume. No significant rain here since spring. Yard was slowly drying up. Now Bermuda turning a beautiful dark green, milorganite helping Bermuda expand its territory to open dirt areas along with new plug core remover/installer that were weed dominant until Celcius cleared the way. 30 yrs fighting weeds, grass stickers mainly. 2,4-D early, then burn, then dig up n burn again. 2pk. Celcius is needed for spurge removal. Hoping mother nature cooperates soon. pads on handle bars are soft gripping, I'm thinking motorcycle grips will endure longer life. sharp edges, water softening prevention, and aerator shuffle is key to cardiac freedom. enjoy your green yard. late summer aeration to year round when mother nature extends helping hand. those times seem to be far n few between this yr. Easy to assemble, very sturdy core aerator. The reason that I purchased this is that you can change out the core tines. Easy to use if you prep your soil or ground before aerating your lawn.

This tool is actually very well built. You have to flood the area so the prongs go into the dirt. It works well on soft dirt, but of course you need it to work on compacted dirt. I waited until it rained and then it was a snap.

Cool little tool for small areas. It is work though and doing it in the rain helps the cause.

A good aeration tool for small areas. Often requires you to manually push plugs out from the tool, but that's reasonable considering the excellent results. Seems to be well constructed. Make sure the lawn is well watered before using.

This aerator is incredibly well manufactured for the price - I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the manufacturing and the welds/joints - worked well on my dry compacted soil and pulled solid cores.

Works well. You will have issues getting penetration in really hard soils, which is more of an issue with the soil and not the tool. If you can't penetrate with a pitchfork, you'll have the same issue here. Soak the ground until you succeed.
Solid tool. One wish would be to have two bars instead of a single pole. Not an issue for your knee for a small area, but you'll bang your knee a few times with this setup.

Works well, use after rain fall and on smaller lawns less than 3000 sq ft

Feel very sturdy and well made. Metal actually seems to be a good quality and thick. When I started it was very hard to push into the ground, even after freshly watering. My foot was aching pretty quickly. After realizing it just want feasible to use like this I decided to sharpen the tines. If you have a grinder of some sort, do this. Doesn’t need to be razor sharp but just a good edge all the way around each tine. Once I did that this thing cuts through with ease. I’m only about 150lbs and I could just put my foot in and basically walk, instead of trying to stomp it into the ground and the tines would cut all the way in. Even after hitting many rocks it held up just fine.

... Though it We're still a fair amount of time to use and even just an average sized yard. But the tool itself is nicely made. It was very easy to put together and it's very simple to use. And don't worry if it gets clogged because every time you push it into the ground it pushes the dirt out.

This manual core aerator works better than I expected for compacted areas because the hollow tines actually pull out solid plugs instead of just poking shallow holes, and the tool feels strong enough to push into the ground without bending even when the soil is dense. The semi assembled design made setup quick and the replaceable tines are a nice touch since they extend the life of the tool, and once I got into a rhythm it was easy to cover a decent section of the yard without feeling like I was fighting it. This is a very sturdy unit, and was pretty easy to assemble. The thin little wrench included will get the job done, but if you have a real wrench that size it would go much easier.
That the tines are replaceable is a nice feature—if they actually sell replacements. Being made of stainless steel insures there will be no rust.
As for using it; When they say to water the lawn first, they mean it. Water it a lot. Punching 4 holes that big takes a lot of effort (and I weigh over 200 lbs). If the lawn isn’t thoroughly saturated it’s really a lot of work. The way the tines are cut does effectively eject the plug with each new step—something my old, smaller one didn’t do very well.
The base where you step on it is pretty wide and easily accommodated my size 11 boots. The rubber handles are larger in diameter than my old one, and much more comfortable to hand on to.
